Lori Ann Reigert 'Class of 1999' Scholarship Fund at the OSU College of Education and Human Ecology

Lori Ann Reigert was a 1999 alumni and a super fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. She was awarded two scholarships while at OSU that helped her financially and gave her the confidence and the motivation to complete her degree. She is giving back, in her memory, by providing a similar, yearly scholarship for an undergraduate student of outstanding character so that student may continue and complete their OSU education.

New “EHE Gateway to Success In Memory of Lori Ann Reigert ’99” at OSU

Alumna Lori Ann Reigert is now remembered on The Ohio State University campus by the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) with a gathering space for students in The Ohio State University’s Physical Activity and Educational Services Building (PAES).

Thanks to an endowed fund created by Lori’s parents, John and Eileen Reigert of North Ridgeville, Ohio, the “EHE Gateway To Success in Memory of Lori Ann Reigert ’99 and all lives lost to cancer” has been refurbished with new paint, décor and furniture, along with a plaque commemorating Lori’s love for her alma mater. The area chosen is adjacent to the college’s academic advising offices.

Lori Ann Reigert graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science and a minor in sociology and was inducted as a member of the Phi Upsilon Omicron Honor Society. Over the course of her work career, she became an experienced sales and marketing professional.

She advanced in her career by building relationships and gaining the appreciation of her many professional contacts. Thanks to taking several courses in the college’s Fashion and Retail Studies Program, Lori’s first job after college was at Victoria’s Secret as an assistant textile technologist. She was later promoted to production coordinator in purchasing.

After more than five years at Victoria’s Secret, she spent more than four years at Express as an account executive. By then, her marketing expertise was well established, and Aramark recruited her. During close to five years at Aramark, she rose to number two in the nation for sales in Refreshment Services which included a major account at The Ohio State University.

In the middle of this active and fulfilling career, Lori willingly took eight months from her work to serve as full-time caregiver for her mother during a health crisis. That was just the type of person Lori was – committed to showing her loyalty and caring for others.

When her mother’s crisis passed, Lori was recruited by ENVISION LLC in northeastern Ohio, where she became a top marketing specialist for their client, Anheuser-Busch. During her 5-1/2 years there as a trade acceleration manager, she ranked number three in her region for sales volume until cancer took her life in March 2016, after her doctors had misdiagnosed her cancer (see larscaf.org).

To further honor Lori, who was awarded two EHE scholarships for outstanding character and service, her parents donated funds to create a similar scholarship for others in her memory and in gratitude to The Ohio State University, the “Lori Ann Reigert Class of 1999 Scholarship Fund”.

Her scholarship is for OSU undergraduate students demonstrating high character and outstanding service who choose to follow in Lori’s footsteps by majoring in the Human Development and Family Science Program. Interested students are invited to apply, both to the program and for the scholarship.
